BOTOX
Botox is one of the safest, most popular procedures available. It is FDA approved and has been used for over a decade in wrinkle therapy. A few drops of Botox are injected by a tiny need into the muscle that creates the wrinkle, blocking nerve impulses from reaching that area. As a result, the muscle weakens, the skin overlying the muscle relaxes and the wrinkles gradually soften and often disappear. Normal facial expressions are not affected.
Recovery time in minimal. Most patients continue their daily routine immediately after the procedure.
The best candidates for Botox are men and women who are physically healthy, realistic in their expectations, and age 30 or older. Younger ages may have Botox in order to prevent premature wrinkles.
