Emma L. Clay, M.D.

Ronald HartmanEmma L. Clay, M.D., joins Long Beach Laser Center from the UCLA Medical Center Jules Stein Eye Institute, Department of Ophthalmology. Dr. Clay completed her Ophthalmology training after graduating from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Clay was awarded numerous honors, including the Paul Kayser International Scholar Award, the Jules Stein Alumni Association Resident Research Grant, and the Caroll R. Mullen Memorial Prize in Ophthalmology.

At the Jules Stein Eye Institute, Dr. Clay has been evaluating the clinical response of pediatric patients with chronic anterior uveitis to infliximab, a new tumor necrosis factor alpha blocker. She has also been instrumental in establishing a new method of analysis to apply to evaluation of medications for uveitis. Previous to Jules Stein, Dr. Clay worked with the Doheny Eye Institute in Los Angeles and the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.
